         Dick York's Message

 

 

1. Romans chapter twelve and, more specifically, eternal life as opposed to our natural lives, has been our topic of discussion for a while now.

¿ì¸®´Â ±× µ¿¾È ·Î¸¶¼­ 12Àå, ƯÈ÷ ¿ì¸®ÀÇ ¼Ó¼ºÀûÀÎ »î°ú ¹Ý´ëµÇ´Â ¿µ¿øÇÑ »î¿¡ ´ëÇؼ­
´Ù·ç¾î º¸¾Ò½À´Ï´Ù.



2. For us it is imperative to know that although we are in this world, we are not of it.

ºñ·Ï ¿ì¸®°¡ ÀÌ ¼¼»ó ¾È¿¡ ÀÖÀ»Áö¶óµµ ¼¼»ó¿¡ ¼ÓÇÑ °ÍÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï¶ó´Â °ÍÀ» ¾Æ´Â °ÍÀº
¸Å¿ì Áß¿äÇÕ´Ï´Ù.



3. We live in temporal bodies in a temporal world and we are often tempted, therefore, to live by temporal norms as does the rest of the society around us.

¿ì¸®´Â ÀϽÃÀûÀÎ À°Ã¼ ¾È¿¡¼­ ÀϽÃÀûÀÎ ¼¼»ó¿¡ »ì°í ÀÖ°í, ÀÚÁÖ ¹ÌȤµÇ¹Ç·Î ¿ì¸® ÁÖº¯ÀÇ
³ª¸ÓÁö »çȸµéÀÌ »ì¾Æ°¡´Â °Íó·³ ÀϽÃÀûÀÎ ¹æ½Ä´ë·Î »ì¾Æ°©´Ï´Ù.




4. Because of this, we attempt by carnal means to accomplish God¡¯s spiritual work in the earth.

ÀÌ°Í ¶§¹®¿¡ ¿ì¸®´Â Áö±¸»óÀÇ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¿µÀûÀÎ ÀÏÀ» ÀÌ·ç±â À§ÇØ À°Ã¼ÀûÀÎ ¹æ¹ýÀ¸·Î Á¢±ÙÇÕ´Ï´Ù.



5. The result is that we practice a ¡°religion¡± called ¡°Christianity¡± instead of living a life that is ¡°Christ.¡±

±× °á°ú·Î ¿ì¸®´Â ¡°¿¹¼ö ±×¸®½ºµµ¡±ÀÎ »îÀ» »ì±âº¸´Ù´Â ¡°±âµ¶±³¡±¶ó´Â ¡°Á¾±³¡±È°µ¿À» ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.



6. The doctrines of the Bible become our ¡°Theology¡± instead of applicable truths that govern our daily walk; we boast of a theology of ¡°born-again¡± without having actually been born-again.

¼º°æÀÇ °¡¸£Ä§Àº ¿ì¸®ÀÇ ¸ÅÀÏÀÇ Çຸ¸¦ ´ã´çÇϱâ À§ÇØ Àû¿ëµÉ ¼ö ÀÖ´Â Áø¸®°¡ µÇ±âº¸´Ù´Â ¡°½ÅÇÐ À̷С±ÀÌ µÇ¾î¹ö·È½À´Ï´Ù; ¿ì¸®´Â Áø½ÇµÈ ´Ù½Ã žÀÌ ¾ø´Â ä·Î ¡°°Åµì³²¡±ÀÇ ½ÅÇÐÀû ÀÌ·ÐÀ» ÀÚ¶ûÇÕ´Ï´Ù.



7. That was a problem in Paul¡¯s day, and it is still a problem in ours.

ÀÌ°ÍÀº »çµµ ¹Ù¿ïÀÇ ½Ã´ë¿¡µµ ¹®Á¦Á¡À̾ú°í ÇöÀç±îÁö ¿ì¸®µéÀÇ ¹®Á¦À̱⵵ ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.


8. It is a problem in Korea as well as in America.

ÀÌ°ÍÀº Çѱ¹¿¡¼­µµ ¹®Á¦ÀÌ°í ¹Ì±¹¿¡¼­µµ ¸¶Âù°¡ÁöÀÔ´Ï´Ù.



9. Many people who profess Christ are living by laws; some of them by Moses¡¯ law; some of them by the laws imposed by their leaders; some by the traditions of their denominations and others by their own self-imposed ideas of what is righteous.

¿¹¼ö´ÔÀ» Áõ¾ðÇÏ´Â ¸¹Àº »ç¶÷µéÀÌ À²¹ý¿¡ µû¶ó »ì¾Æ°¡°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù; ±×µé Áß ¾î¶² »ç¶÷µéÀº ¸ð¼¼ÀÇ À²¹ýÀ» µû¸£°í, ¾î¶² »ç¶÷µéÀº ±×µéÀÇ ÁöµµÀÚµéÀÌ ÁÖÀÔ½ÃŲ À²¹ý¿¡ µû¶ó »ì¾Æ°¡°í, ¶Ç ¾î¶² »ç¶÷µéÀº ±×µéÀÌ ¼ÓÇÑ ±³ÆÄÀÇ ÀüÅë, ¶Ç ¾î¶² À̵éÀº ½º½º·Î ÀÇ·Ó´Ù°í »ý°¢ÇÏ´Â ¹ýÀ» µû¸£±âµµ ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.



10. But if we want to walk in truth, we must learn two things: to trust, and to obey.

ÇÏÁö¸¸ ¿ì¸®°¡ Áø¸® ¾È¿¡¼­ °È°í ½Í´Ù¸é ¹Ýµå½Ã µÎ °¡Áö¿¡ ´ëÇØ ¹è¿ö¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù: ¹Ï´Â °Í°ú ¼øÁ¾ÇÏ´Â °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.



11. The one we are to trust is Jesus; who we are to obey is the Holy Spirit through the Word.

¿ì¸®°¡ ¹Ï¾î¾ß ÇÒ ÇÑ°¡Áö´Â ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÔ´Ï´Ù; ¿ì¸®°¡ ¼øÁ¾ÇØ¾ß ÇÒ °ÍÀº ¸»¾¸À» ÅëÇÑ ¼º·ÉÀÔ´Ï´Ù. 




12. In Romans 12:3 Paul inserts an admonition that is pivotal to our fulfilling God¡¯s purpose wherever he has placed us.

·Î¸¶¼­ 12Àå 3Àý¿¡ »çµµ ¹Ù¿ïÀº Çϳª´Ô²²¼­ ¿ì¸®¸¦ ¾î´À À§Ä¡¿¡ ³õÀ¸¼ÌµçÁö ¿ì¸®°¡ ±×ºÐÀÇ ¸ñÀûÀ» ÃæÁ·½ÃÅ°´Â °Í¿¡ ´ëÇØ Áß½ÉÀÌ µÇ´Â Èư踦 ³Ö¾î³õ¾Ò½À´Ï´Ù.




13. Farmer, carpenter, lawyer, preacher, whatever you are, ¡°I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think¡¦¡±

14. This is often ignored by ambitious saints.

ÀÌ ¸»¾¸Àº ¾ß½ÉÀûÀÎ ¼ºµµµé¿¡ ÀÇÇØ ÀÚÁÖ ¹«½ÃµË´Ï´Ù.



15. I believe there is a depth of meaning here that actually deals with two things: first, don¡¯t think of yourself as being more important than you really are; and secondly, don¡¯t think of yourself too individualistically so that you are not functioning interdependently as a member of a body.

16. It is easy to forget that God has set us in the body as it has pleased him; we don¡¯t get to pick and choose.

17. From verses 4-8 Paul deals with that issue.

4ÀýºÎÅÍ 8Àý±îÁö ¹Ù¿ïÀº ÀÌ°Í¿¡ ´ëÇØ ´Ù·ç°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.



18. A body is not made up of one member, it comprises many members, and all of those members are distinct and have different functions, but none of them operates properly or effectively when severed from the rest.

¸öÀº ÇϳªÀÇ Áöü·Î ÀÌ·ç¾îÁö´Â °ÍÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï¶ó ¿©·¯ Áöüµé·Î ±¸¼ºµÇ°í, ¸ðµç ÁöüµéÀº ¶³¾îÁ® ÀÖ°í ´Ù¸¥ ¿ªÇÒµéÀ» °®°í ÀÖÁö¸¸ ³ª¸ÓÁö Áöüµé·ÎºÎÅÍ °¥¶óÁø´Ù¸é ±×µé Áß ´©±¸µµ ¿ªÇÒÀ» Á¦´ë·Î ¶Ç´Â È¿°úÀûÀ¸·Î ¼öÇàÇÒ ¼ö ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù.  


19. You have no doubt noticed that in verses 6-8 the subject is gifts, and he names some of them (other gifts are mentioned in other lists elsewhere in the New Testament epistles): prophecy, ministry (serving), teaching, exhorting, giving, ruling, showing mercy; these are gifts.

6~8ÀýÀÇ ÁÖÁ¦°¡ Àº»ç¶ó´Â °Í¿¡ ´ëÇؼ­´Â ¾Æ¸¶ ÀǽÉÄ¡ ¾ÊÀ» °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù, ±×¸®°í ±×ºÐÀº ±×µé Áß ¾î¶² À̵éÀ» Áö¸íÇϼ̽À´Ï´Ù. (´Ù¸¥ Àº»çµéÀº ½Å¾àÀÇ ´Ù¸¥ ÆíÁöµé¿¡ ¾ð±ÞµÇ¾îÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.): ¿¹¾ð, ¼¶±â´Â ÀÏ, °¡¸£Ä¡´Â ÀÏ, ±ÇÀ§ÇÏ´Â ÀÏ, ±¸Á¦ÇÏ´Â ÀÏ, ´Ù½º¸®´Â ÀÏ, ±àÈáÀ» º£Çª´Â ÀÏ; À̰͵éÀº Àº»çÀÔ´Ï´Ù.



20. The giver is the Lord and the source is the Holy Spirit.

Áֽô ºÐ²²¼­´Â ÁÖ´ÔÀÌ½Ã°í °ø±ÞÀÚ´Â ¼º·ÉÀ̽ʴϴÙ.



21. These attributes do not originate in us, we have nothing to do with their operation; they are of God.

ÀÌ·± ¼Ó¼ºµéÀº ¿ì¸®·ÎºÎÅÍ ½ÃÀÛÇÏÁö ¾Ê°í, ¿ì¸®´Â ±×ºÐµéÀÇ ÀÏ¿¡ ¾Æ¹«°Íµµ °ü°èÇÒ °ÍÀÌ ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù; ±×°ÍµéÀº ¸ðµÎ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.



22. We, as individuals, are merely containers, vessels in whom God chooses to operate.

¿ì¸®´Â, °¢ °³ÀÎÀ¸·Î¼­, Çϳª´Ô²²¼­ »ç¿ëÇϽõµ·Ï ¼±ÅÃÇϽô ±×¸©¿¡ ºÒ°úÇÏÁö ¾Ê½À´Ï´Ù.



23. When they seem to succeed in accomplishing some great thing, we have nothing to be proud about; or when they seem to be fruitless, we have nothing to regret.

±×µéÀÌ ¾î¶² À§´ëÇÑ ÀÏÀ» ¼ºÃëÇÔÀ¸·Î½á ¼º°øÇÑ °Íó·³ º¸ÀÎ´Ù¸é ¿ì¸®´Â ±×°Í¿¡ ´ëÇØ ¾Æ¹«°Íµµ ÀÚ¶ûÇÒ °ÍÀÌ ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù; ¾Æ´Ï¸é ±×µéÀÌ ¾Æ¹« º¸¶÷ÀÌ ¾ø´Â °Íó·³ º¸ÀÏÁö¶óµµ ¿ì¸®´Â ÈÄȸÇÒ °ÍÀÌ ¾Æ¹«°Íµµ ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù.



24. We are the same vessel whether we see great results or little from the exercise of our gift.

¿ì¸®´Â ¿ì¸®ÀÇ Àº»ç¸¦ ¾¸¿¡ ÀÖ¾î À§´ëÇϰųª ÀûÀº °á°ú¸¦ ¾ò´Â´Ù ÇÏ´õ¶óµµ ¸ðµÎ ¶È°°Àº ±×¸©ÀÔ´Ï´Ù.



25. Our responsibility is to trust the Lord and obey the leading of the Holy Spirit.

¿ì¸®ÀÇ Ã¥ÀÓÀº ÁÖ´ÔÀ» ¹Ï°í ¿ì¸®¸¦ À̲ô½Ã´Â ¼º·É¿¡ ¼øÁ¾ÇÏ´Â °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.



26. Obviously, according to the exhortation in these verses, we have the option to demonstrate either an attitude of the flesh, or ¡°the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.¡±

¹°·Ð, ÀÌ Àýµé¿¡ ³ª¿ÍÀÖ´Â °£°îÇÑ ÈÆ°è¿¡ µû¸£¸é ¿ì¸®´Â À°½ÅÀÇ Åµµ¸¦ º¸À̰ųª, ¶Ç´Â ¡°¼±ÇÏ½Ã°í ±â»µÇÏ½Ã°í ¿ÂÀüÇϽŠ¶æ¡±À» µû¸£´Â ¼±ÅÃÀÇ ÀÚÀ¯°¡ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.



27. It will not be demonstrated by what we do, but rather by the spirit in which we do it.

ÀÌ°ÍÀº ¿ì¸®°¡ ¹«¾ùÀ» ÇÏ´À³Ä º¸´Ù´Â ¿ì¸®°¡ µû¸£´Â ¼º·É¿¡ ÀÇÇØ º¸¿©Áö°Ô µÉ °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.  


28. There are no more important members or less important members in the body of Christ.

¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ ¸ö ¾È¿¡¼­´Â ´õ Áß¿äÇϰųª ´ú Áß¿äÇÑ Áöü°¡ ÀÖÁö ¾Ê½À´Ï´Ù.



29. Each will ultimately be rewarded, not by how much, but by what sort his work was (1Corinthians 3:13).

°¢°¢Àº °á±¹¿£ º¸»óÀ» ¹ÞÀ» °ÍÀε¥ ¾ó¸¶³ª ¸¹ÀÌ Çß´À³Ä¿¡ ÀÇÇÑ °ÍÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï¶ó ±×ÀÇ ÀÏÀÌ ¾î¶°ÇÑ °ÍÀ̾ú´À³Ä¿¡ ÀÇÇÑ °ÍÀÏ °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù(°íÀü 3:13).



30. Was the work religious work done in the flesh? or was it God¡¯s work done by the Spirit?

±×°ÍÀÌ À°Ã¼ ¾È¿¡¼­ ÇàÇØÁø Á¾±³ÀûÀÎ ÀÏÀ̾ú´Â°¡? ¾Æ´Ï¸é ¼º·É¿¡ ÀÇÇØ ÇàÇØÁø Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ÀÏÀ̾ú´Â°¡?



 31. Was it the work or our eternal life? Or of our carnal effort?

±×°ÍÀÌ ÀÏÀ̾ú´Â°¡ ¾Æ´Ï¸é ¿µ¿øÇÑ »îÀ̾ú´Â°¡? ¾Æ´Ï¸é À°Ã¼ÀûÀÎ ³ë·Â¿¡ ÀÇÇÑ °ÍÀ̾ú´Â°¡?



32. What is done by the Spirit is part of God¡¯s eternal plan; what is done by the flesh may look good to human eyes, but it begins with us and ends with us.

¼º·É¿¡ ÀÇÇØ ÇàÇØÁø ÀÏÀº Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¿µ¿øÇÑ ¸ñÀûÀÇ ÀϺÎÀÔ´Ï´Ù; À°Ã¼¿¡ ÀÇÇØ ÇàÇØÁø ÀÏÀº »ç¶÷ÀÇ ´«¿¡´Â ÁÁ¾Æ º¸ÀÏÁö ¸ð¸£³ª ±×°ÍÀº ¿ì¸®¿¡¼­ ½ÃÀÛÇÏ°í ¿ì¸®¿¡¼­ ³¡³³´Ï´Ù.


33. The rest of chapter 12, verses 9-21 is very straight forward; so much so that many of the saints reading through see nothing doctrinally spectacular to capture their religious interest or curiosity.

12ÀåÀÇ ³ª¸ÓÁö ºÎºÐ, 9~21ÀýÀº ¾ÆÁÖ Á÷¼³ÀûÀÔ´Ï´Ù; ¸Å¿ì Á÷¼³ÀûÀ̹ǷΠ¸¹Àº ¼ºµµµéÀÌ ±×µéÀÇ Á¾±³ÀûÀÎ °ü½ÉÀ̳ª È£±â½ÉÀ» ÀÚ±ØÇÒ¸¸ÇÑ ±³¸®ÀûÀ¸·Î Ưº°ÇÑ °ÍÀ» º¸Áö ¸øÇÏ°í ³Ñ¾î°©´Ï´Ù.



34. But we must not gloss over such important instruction.

±×·¯³ª ¿ì¸®´Â ÀÌ Áß¿äÇÑ °¡¸£Ä§À» °£°úÇؼ­´Â ¾ÈµË´Ï´Ù.



35. Pretending to love one another when in fact we don¡¯t is ¡°dissimulation¡± (v.9).

½ÇÁ¦·Î´Â ±×·¸Áö ¾ÊÀ¸¸é¼­ ³²À» »ç¶ûÇϴ ô ÇÏ´Â °ÍÀº ¡°À§¼±(°ÅÁþ)¡±ÀÔ´Ï´Ù (9Àý).



36. According to 1Corinthians 13:1-3, no matter how great we seem to be, or how spiritual we look, if we don¡¯t have love we are nothing!

°í¸°µµ Àü¼­ 13Àå 1~3Àý¿¡ µû¸£¸é, ¿ì¸®°¡ ¾ó¸¶³ª À§´ëÇÏ°Ô º¸À̵çÁö ¾Æ´Ï¸é ¾ó¸¶³ª ¿µÀûÀ¸·Î º¸À̵çÁö »ó°ü¾øÀÌ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô »ç¶ûÀÌ ¾ø´Ù¸é ¿ì¸° ¾Æ¹«°Íµµ ¾Æ´Ñ °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù!



37. We are not only to love from a distance, we are to demonstrate it by showing kind affection and demonstrating respect and even honor toward one another (v.10).

¿ì¸®´Â ¸Ö¸® ¶³¾îÁ®¼­µµ »ç¶ûÇÒ »Ó ¾Æ´Ï¶ó ¼­·Î ¿ì¾ÖÇÏ°í »ó´ë¹æÀ» Á¸°æÇÏ°í ¸í¿¹·Ó°Ô ¿©±â±â±îÁö ÇÔÀ¸·Î½á ÀÌ »ç¶ûÀ» µå·¯³À´Ï´Ù. (10Àý)



38. This is often lacking among the saints.

ÀÌ °ÍÀº ¼ºµµµé¿¡°Ô ÀÖ¾î ÀÚÁÖ °áÇ̵˴ϴÙ.



39. It is part of human nature to desire to be loved more than to love; to desire to be honored rather than to give honor to others, especially to those that we feel are a little lower than we are.

»ç¶ûÇÏ´Â °Íº¸´Ù »ç¶û ¹Þ±â¸¦ ¿øÇÏ´Â °ÍÀº »ç¶÷ÀÌ °¡Áö´Â ÀμºÁßÀÇ ÇϳªÀÔ´Ï´Ù; ³²À» ¿µ¿¹·Ó±â Çϱ⺸´Ù´Â ¸í¿¹·Ó°Ô µÇ´Â °ÍÀ», ƯÈ÷ ¿ì¸®°¡ ´À³¢±â¿¡ ¿ì¸®º¸´Ù Á¶±Ý ³·´Ù°í »ý°¢µÇ´Â »ç¶÷µé¿¡°Ô Á¸°æ ¹Þ°í ½Í¾îÇÕ´Ï´Ù.



40. But that is what eternal life is all about, we have been made partakers of a new nature, the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4).

ÇÏÁö¸¸ À̰͵éÀº ¿µ¿øÇÑ »ý¸í¿¡ ´ëÇÑ ¸ðµç °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù, ¿ì¸®´Â »õ·Î¿î ÀÚ¿¬(º»¼º), Áï ½Å¼ºÇÑ ¼ºÇ°¿¡ Âü¿¹ÇÏ´Â »ç¶÷µéÀÌ µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù (º¦ÈÄ 1:4).



41. One of the evidences of the new birth is that ¡°old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).¡±

»õ·Ó°Ô žÀÇ Áõ°Åµé Áß Çϳª´Â ¡°ÀÌÀü °ÍÀº Áö³ª°¬À¸´Ï º¸¶ó ¸ðµç °ÍÀÌ »õ°ÍÀÌ µÇ¾úµµ´Ù (°íÈÄ 5:17).¡±  



42. Please read and meditate verse by verse upon the remainder of this chapter and realize that this is the description of the spiritual life.

ÀÌ ÀåÀÇ ³ª¸ÓÁö ÀýµéÀ» ÀÐ°í ¹¬»óÇÏ°í ÀÌ°ÍÀÌ ¿µÀûÀÎ »î¿¡ ´ëÇÑ ¹¦»ç¶ó´Â °ÍÀ» ±ú´Þ¾Æ Áֽñ⸦ ¹Ù¶ø´Ï´Ù.



43. These attitudes should be the result of and the evidence of walking in the Spirit.
