         Dick York's Message

 

 


1. In my previous article I asserted that eternal life is something more than simply a life that has no end; it is the life of Christ, which has no beginning or end.

ÀÌÀüÀÇ ±Û¿¡¼­ Á¦°¡ ¿µ»ýÀº ´Ü¼øÈ÷ ³¡ÀÌ ¾ø´Â »ý¸íÀ̱⺸´Ù´Â Ưº°ÇÑ ´Ù¸¥ °ÍÀ̶ó°í ¸»¾¸µå·È½À´Ï´Ù. ±×°ÍÀº ±×¸®½ºµµÀÇ »ý¸íÀ̸ç, ½ÃÀÛÀ̳ª ³¡ÀÌ ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù.

2. It is eternal.

ÀÌ´Â ¿µ¿øÇÕ´Ï´Ù.

3. When we came into Christ and were born again, we literally became partakers of his life.

¿ì¸®°¡ ±×¸®½ºµµ ¾È¿¡ µé¾î¿À°í, °Åµì³µÀ» ¶§, ¿ì¸®´Â ¹®ÀÚ ±×´ë·Î ±×ÀÇ »ý¸í¿¡ Âü¿¹ÇÑ ÀÚ°¡ µÇ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù.



5. But we still live in bodies that are very much related to time.

±×·¯³ª ¿ì¸®´Â ¾ÆÁ÷ ½Ã°£¿¡ ¸Å¿© ÀÖ´Â ¸ö ¾È¿¡ »ì°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.



6. The life of our bodies(flesh) is temporal, and written into our members is the law of sin (Rom. 7:23).

¿ì¸® ¸ö(À°½Å)ÀÇ »ý¸íÀº ÀϽÃÀûÀ̸ç, ÁËÀÇ ¹ýÀÌ ¿ì¸® Áöü ¾È¿¡ ¾²¿© ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. (·Ò 7:23)




7. So there is a conflict between the Spirit and the flesh.

±×·¸±â ¶§¹®¿¡ ¼º·É°ú À°½Å »çÀÌ¿¡ ½Î¿òÀÌ ÀÖ´Â °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.


8. They are contrary to one another (Galatians 5:17). –The end of first paragraph-

ÀÌ µÑÀº ¼­·Î ´ëÀûÇÏ´Â °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù. (°¥ 5:17)


9. Before we came to Christ and were born again into the family of God, we were subject to the law of sin which is in our members.

¿ì¸®°¡ ±×¸®½ºµµ ¾È¿¡ µé¾î¿À°í, °Åµì³ª¼­ Çϳª´Ô Àڳడ µÇ±â Àü¿¡´Â ¿ì¸® Áöü ¼Ó¿¡ ÀÖ´Â ÁËÀÇ ¹ý¿¡ ¼ÓÇØ ÀÖ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù.

10. Everything we did was sin, whether it was good or evil, it was sin because it originated in our flesh, and even the apostle Paul said of his flesh,¡°In me, that is in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing.¡±(Romans7:18) -The end of second paragraph-

¿ì¸®°¡ ÇÑ ¸ðµç °ÍÀº ±×°ÍÀÌ ¼±ÇÏµç ¾ÇÇϵçÁö °£¿¡ ¸ðµÎ ÁË¿´½À´Ï´Ù. ¿Ö³ÄÇÏ¸é ¿ì¸®°¡ ÇÑ ¸ðµç °ÍÀÌ ¿ì¸® À°½ÅÀ¸·ÎºÎÅÍ ³ª¿Ô±â ¶§¹®ÀÔ´Ï´Ù. ±×¸®°í »çµµ ¹Ù¿ïÁ¶Â÷µµ ±×ÀÇ À°½Å¿¡ ´ëÇؼ­ ¡°³» ¼Ó °ð ³» À°½Å¿¡ ¼±ÇÑ °ÍÀÌ °ÅÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ´Â ÁÙÀ» ¾Æ³ë´Ï¡± (·Ò 7:18) ¶ó°í ¸»Çß½À´Ï´Ù.



11. Although we had no choice, before we were saved, but to walk after our sinful flesh (Ephesians 2:2,3), since we have been made alive in Christ and have become new creatures (2 Corinthians 5:17), sin has no more power over us (Romans 6:14,18).

¿ì¸®°¡ ±¸¿ø¹Þ±â ÀÌÀü¿¡´Â ÁË ¸¹Àº À°Ã¼¸¦ µû¶ó »ç´Â °Í ¿Ü¿¡´Â ´Ù¸¥ ¼±ÅÃÀÇ ¿©Áö°¡ ¾ø¾úÁö¸¸ (¿¦ 2:2-3), ¿ì¸®°¡ ±×¸®½ºµµ ¾È¿¡¼­ »ý¸íÀ» ¾ò°í, »õ·Î¿î ÇÇÁ¶¹°ÀÌ µÇ¾ú±â ¶§¹®¿¡ (°íÈÄ 5:17) ÁË´Â ´õ ÀÌ»ó ¿ì¸®¸¦ ÁÖ°üÄ¡ ¸øÇÕ´Ï´Ù. (·Ò 6:14,18)



12. As Christians, we no longer have to yield to the lusts of our flesh and the carnal attributes that reside in it.

±×¸®½ºµµÀÎÀ¸·Î¼­ ¿ì¸®´Â ´õ ÀÌ»ó ¿ì¸® À°½ÅÀÇ ¼Ò¿åÀ̳ª ±× ¾È¿¡ °ÅÇÏ´Â À°Ã¼ÀÇ ¼Ó¼ºÀ» µû¸¦ ÇÊ¿ä°¡ ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù.



13. We can walk in holiness and righteousness if we walk in the Spirit.

¿ì¸®°¡ ¿µ ¾È¿¡ °ÅÇÑ´Ù¸é ¿ì¸®´Â °Å·èÇÔ°ú ÀǷοò ¾È¿¡ °ÅÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.


14. There are two lives then, Eternal life, and natural life.

±×·¯¹Ç·Î µÎ °¡ÁöÀÇ »îÀÌ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. ¿µ»ýÀÇ »î°ú À°½ÅÀÇ »îÀÌ ±×°ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.


15. As believers we have an option.

¹Ï´Â »ç¶÷À¸·Î¼­ ¿ì¸®´Â ¼±ÅÃÀ» ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.


16. Read carefully the following scriptures: Galatians 5:16,17; Romans 8:5-14; 1Corinthians 3:1-4; 1 Corinthians 10:13.

´ÙÀ½¿¡ ³ª¿À´Â ¼º°æÀ» Àß Àо½Ã±â ¹Ù¶ø´Ï´Ù. °¥¶óµð¾Æ¼­ 5:16-17, ·Î¸¶¼­ 8:5-14, °í¸°µµÀü¼­ 3:1-4, °í¸°µµÀü¼­ 10:13.

17. In all of these texts we can see the evidence that spiritual people can walk victoriously in the Spirit or they can choose to walk carnally.

ÀÌ ¸ðµç ¼º°æ¿¡¼­ ¿ì¸®´Â ¼ºµµµéÀÌ ¿µ ¾È¿¡¼­ ½Â¸®ÀÇ »îÀ» »ìµçÁö ¾Æ´Ï¸é À°½ÅÀÇ »îÀ» ¼±ÅÃÇÒ ¼öµµ ÀÖ´Â Áõ°Å¸¦ ã¾Æ º¼ ¼ö ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù¸¸

18. That is not God¡¯s purpose.

±×°ÍÀÌ(À°½ÅÀÇ »îÀ» »ç´Â °Í) Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¸ñÀûÀº ¾Æ´Õ´Ï´Ù.

19. We are to walk after the Spirit, bringing our bodies into subjection, and manifesting in our bodies, not the sin to which they naturally gravitate, but the holiness of our spiritual life. –The end of third paragraph-

¿ì¸®´Â ¼º·É ¾È¿¡ °ÅÇÏ¸ç ¿ì¸® ¸öÀ» º¹Á¾½ÃÅ°°í, ÀÚ¿¬ÀûÀ¸·Î À̲ø¸®°Ô µÇ´Â ÁË°¡ ¾Æ´Ñ ¿ì¸® ½Å¾ÓÀÇ °Å·èÇÔÀ» ¸ö¿¡ ³ªÅ¸³»¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.


20. I asked you, in the previous article, to read Romans 12. I am assuming that you have done that.

Á¦°¡ Áö³­ ±Û¿¡¼­ ¿©·¯ºÐ²² ·Î¸¶¼­ 12ÀåÀ» Àо¶ó°í ºÎŹµå·È°í, ¿©·¯ºÐ²²¼­ ÀÐÀ¸¼ÌÀ¸¸®¶ó »ý°¢ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.


21. If you did, you probably noticed that it is an admonition to the brethren.

¸¸¾à ¿©·¯ºÐ²²¼­ ÀÐÀ¸¼Ì´Ù¸é ÀÌ°ÍÀÌ ÇüÁ¦µéÀ» ÇâÇÑ ±Ç°í¶ó´Â °ÍÀ» ¹ß°ßÇϼÌÀ» °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.

22. Paul is telling them how to behave; extremely important instruction that is frequently ignored by professing believers.

¹Ù¿ïÀ» ±×µé¿¡°Ô ¾î¶»°Ô ÇàÇØ¾ß ÇÏ´ÂÁö ¸»ÇÏ°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. ÀÌ´Â (ÁÖ¸¦) ½ÃÀÎÇÏ´Â ¹Ï´Â »ç¶÷µé¿¡ ÀÇÇØ ÀÚÁÖ °æ½Ã ¿©°ÜÁöÁö¸¸ ±²ÀåÈ÷ Áß¿äÇÑ °¡¸£Ä§ÀÔ´Ï´Ù.

23. Read it over and apply each of the verses to your every-day walk.

´Ù½Ã ÇÑ ¹ø Àо½Ã°í °¢ ±¸ÀýÀ» ¿©·¯ºÐ ¸ÅÀÏÀÇ »î¿¡ Àû¿ë½ÃÄÑ º¸½Ê½Ã¿À.


24. But notice especially the first eight verses.

±×·¯³ª Ưº°È÷ óÀ½ 1ÀýºÎÅÍ 8Àý±îÁö¸¦ À¯ÀÇÇÏ¿© Àо±â ¹Ù¶ø´Ï´Ù.


25. And out of those eight pay special attention to the first two, because if you miss the message of verses one and two, you¡¯ve missed it all. –The end of fourth paragraph-

±×¸®°í ±× 8ÀýÁß¿¡¼­ óÀ½ 1Àý°ú 2Àý¿¡ Ưº°ÇÑ ÁÖÀǸ¦ ±â¿ïÀ̽ʽÿÀ. ¿Ö³ÄÇÏ¸é ¿©·¯ºÐÀÌ 1Àý°ú 2ÀýÀÇ ¸Þ½ÃÁö¸¦ ³õÄ¡°Ô µÈ´Ù¸é, ±× µÚÀÇ ¸Þ½ÃÁö ¸ðµÎ¸¦ ³õÄ¡°Ô µÇ±â ¶§¹®ÀÔ´Ï´Ù.



26. ¡°I beseech you brethren¡±¡¦ (this is not a command, it is a plea. The response to this has to come from the heart), ¡°that ye (plural collective) present your bodies (plural)¡±¡¦.

¡°ÇüÁ¦µé¾Æ ³»°¡ ³ÊÈñ¸¦ ±ÇÇϳë´Ï¡¦.¡± ÀÌ°ÍÀº ¸í·ÉÀÌ ¾Æ´Ñ °£Ã»À̱⠶§¹®¿¡ ÀÌ¿¡ ´ëÇÑ

¹ÝÀÀÀº ¸¶À½À¸·ÎºÎÅÍ ³ª¿Í¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. ¡°³ÊÈñ(ye: º¹¼öÁýÇÕ) ¸ö(bodies: º¹¼ö)À»¡¦ µå¸®¶ó.¡±



27. (Paul is pleading for a collective action on the part of the saints; all of them are to present each of their bodies collectively)¡¦.¡±a living sacrifice. (notice that the sacrifice is singular.

¹Ù¿ïÀº °¢°¢ÀÇ ¼ºµµµéÀÌ ÇÔ²² ÇൿÇϱ⸦ °£Ã»ÇÏ°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. ¸ðµç ¼ºµµµéÀº ±×µé ¸öÀÇ

°¢°¢À» ÇÔ²² µå·Á¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. ¡°¡¦»ê Á¦»ç·Î µå¸®¶ó.¡± ¿©±â¿¡¼­ Á¦»ç´Â ´Ü¼ö(a living sacrifice)ÀÎ °ÍÀ» ÁÖ¸ñÇϽʽÿÀ.

28. Together we are to present ourselves collectively as a singular living sacrifice.

¿ì¸®´Â ÇÔ²² ¿ì¸® ÀÚ½ÅÀ» ÇϳªÀÇ »ê Á¦»ç·Î µå·Á¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.



29. To do that requires unity of the Spirit and singleness of heart; no division; no competition; no backbiting.)

±×·¸°Ô ÇÏ´Â °ÍÀº ¼º·ÉÀÇ ¿¬ÇÕ°ú ÇϳªµÈ ¸¶À½À» ÇÊ¿ä·Î ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. ºÐ¿­À̳ª °æÀïÀ̳ª Çè´ãÀÌ À־´Â ¾È µË´Ï´Ù.



30. That sacrifice is to be ¡°holy, acceptable unto God¡±¡¦.

ÀÌ Á¦»ç´Â ¡°Çϳª´ÔÀÌ ±â»µÇϽô °Å·èÇÑ¡± Á¦»ç°¡ µÇ¾î¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.


31. (holy means separate from the world; acceptable unto God means blameless, not hypocritical)¡¦¡±which is your reasonable service¡± –The end of fifth paragraph-

°Å·èÇÔÀº ¼¼»ó°úÀÇ ºÐ¸®¸¦ ÀǹÌÇÕ´Ï´Ù. Çϳª´ÔÀÌ ±â»µÇϽŴٴ Àǹ̴ À§¼±ÀûÀÎ °ÍÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï¶ó Ã¥¸Á ¹ÞÀ» °ÍÀÌ ¾ø´Ù´Â ÀǹÌÀÔ´Ï´Ù. ¡°ÀÌ´Â ³ÊÈñÀÇ µå¸± ¿µÀû ¿¹¹è´Ï¶ó¡±



32. Obviously the expectation is that we would take our bodies with their propensity to follow after their carnal appetites, control them by the power of the Spirit of Christ which is in us (eternal life) and cause them to serve God¡¯s purpose. –The end of sixth paragraph-

ºÐ¸íÇÏ°Ô ±â´ëµÇ´Â °ÍÀº ¿ì¸®°¡ À°Ã¼ÀÇ ¼Ò¿åÀ» µû¸£·Á°í ÇÏ´Â ¼ºÇâÀ» °¡Áø ¸öÀ» ÃëÇÏ¿© ¿ì¸® ¾È¿¡ ÀÖ´Â ±×¸®½ºµµÀÇ ¼º·É(¿µ»ý)ÀÇ ÈûÀ¸·Î ¸»¹Ì¾Ï¾Æ À°Ã¼¸¦ °Å½º¸£°í Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¸ñÀûÀ» ¼¶±âµµ·Ï ¸¸µå´Â °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.

33. The method by which we accomplish this and the consequent result is described in verse two.

¿ì¸®°¡ ÀÌ°ÍÀ» ÀÌ·ç´Â ¹æ¹ý°ú ±×¿¡ µû¸£´Â °á°ú´Â 2Àý¿¡ ³ªÅ¸³ª ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.


34. ¡°And be not conformed to this world.¡±¡¦-The seventh paragraph-

35. Before we move on, let¡¯s talk about what that means.

´ÙÀ½À¸·Î ³Ñ¾î°¡±â Àü¿¡ ÀÌ°ÍÀÌ ¾î¶² ÀǹÌÀÎÁö À̾߱âÇϵµ·Ï ÇÏ°Ú½À´Ï´Ù.


36. It¡¯s quite possible that some among us have never given much thought to what is included in conformity to this world.

¿ì¸®µé Áß ´©±º°¡°¡ ÀÌ ¼¼´ë¸¦ º»¹Þ´Â´Ù´Â °Í¿¡ ¾î¶² Àǹ̰¡ Æ÷ÇԵǾî ÀÖ´ÂÁö ¸¹Àº »ý°¢À» ÇÏÁö ¾Ê¾ÒÀ» °¡´É¼ºµµ ²Ï ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.


37. There are certain qualities that are attributes only of the flesh, and are not attributable to eternal life.

¿µ»ýÀÇ ¼Ó¼º¿¡ ¼ÓÇÏÁö ¾Ê°í ¿ÀÁ÷ À°½ÅÀÇ ¼Ó¼º¿¡¸¸ ¼ÓÇϴ ƯÁ¤ÇÑ Æ¯¼ºµéÀÌ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.


38. In Ephesians 2:3 Paul said all of us ¡°had our conversation in time past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of our flesh and of our mind.¡±

¿¡º£¼Ò¼­ 2Àå 3Àý¿¡¼­ ¹Ù¿ïÀº ¿ì¸® ¸ðµÎ¿¡°Ô ÀÌ·¸°Ô ¸»ÇÏ°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. ¡°Àü¿¡´Â ¿ì¸® À°Ã¼ÀÇ ¿å½ÉÀ» µû¶ó Áö³»¸ç À°Ã¼¿Í ¸¶À½ÀÇ ¿øÇÏ´Â °ÍÀ» ÇÏ¿©¡±



39. That was our nature.

ÀÌ°ÍÀÌ ¿ì¸®ÀÇ º»¼ºÀÔ´Ï´Ù.


40. Included in the list of things that would define the desires of our flesh and of our mind would be the desire for personal ¡°success¡±, including fame, power, influence, control of others, wealth, recognition and a host of other things that are self-exalting.

¸í¼ºÀ̳ª ±Ç·Â, ¿µÇâ·Â, ´Ù¸¥ »ç¶÷À» °¨µ¶ÇÏ´Â °Í, ºÎ, ÀÎÁ¤¹Þ´Â °Í, ±×¸®°í ½º½º·Î¸¦ ³ôÀÌ´Â ¸¹Àº °ÍµéÀ» Æ÷ÇÔÇÏ¿© °³ÀÎÀûÀÎ ¡®¼º°ø¡¯¿¡ ´ëÇÑ ¿å¸ÁÀÌ ¿ì¸® ¸¶À½°ú À°½ÅÀÇ ¿å¸ÁÀ̶ó°í Á¤ÀÇµÉ ¼ö ÀÖ´Â °ÍµéÀÇ ¸ñ·Ï¿¡ Æ÷Ç﵃ °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.


41. These could be summed up in the word ¡°self.¡±

À̰͵éÀº ¡®Àھơ¯¶ó´Â ´Ü¾î·Î ¿ä¾àµÉ ¼ö ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.


42. Jesus said that if we would be his disciples, we are to deny self, and take up the cross. Paul is telling us the same thing. –The end of eighth paragraph-

¿¹¼ö´Ô²²¼­´Â ¿ì¸®°¡ ±×ÀÇ Á¦ÀÚ°¡ µÇ±â µÇ·Á¸é ÀÚ½ÅÀ» ºÎÀÎÇÏ°í ½ÊÀÚ°¡¸¦ Á®¾ß ÇÑ´Ù°í ¸»¾¸Çϼ̽À´Ï´Ù. ¹Ù¿ïµµ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô °°Àº °ÍÀ» À̾߱âÇÏ°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.

43. ¡°But be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind¡¦¡±¡¦

¡°¿ÀÁ÷ ¸¶À½À» »õ·Ó°Ô ÇÔÀ¸·Î º¯È­¸¦ ¹Þ¾Æ¡¦¡±


44. We cannot apply the old worldly mindset to the kingdom of God.

¿ì¸®´Â ÀÌÀüÀÇ ¼¼»óÀûÀÎ »ç°í¹æ½ÄÀ» Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¿Õ±¹¿¡ Àû¿ëÇÒ ¼ö ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù.


45. Everything is different in eternal life than it was in the natural life.

¿µ»ý ¾È¿¡¼­ ¸ðµç °ÍÀº ÀÌÀüÀÇ ÀÚ¿¬ÀÎÀÇ »î¿¡¼­ ±×·¨´ø °Í°ú´Â ´Ù¸¨´Ï´Ù.


46. If we apply the same pursuit of ¡°success¡± with all of its often admired accoutrements to the kingdom of God, we just have a religion, and the eternal life of Christ will not be in evidence even though some might admire us as wonderful Christians.

¸¸¾à ¿ì¸®°¡ ÀÌÀü°ú °°Àº ¡®¼º°ø¡¯ÀÇ Ãß±¸¿Í ±×¸¦ ´Þ¼ºÇϱâ À§ÇÑ ¸ðµç ¹æ¹ýµéÀ» Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¿Õ±¹¿¡ Àû¿ëÇÑ´Ù¸é ¿ì¸®´Â ´ÜÁö Á¾±³¸¦ °¡Áö°í ÀÖÀ» »ÓÀ̸ç, ´©±º°¡°¡ ¿ì¸®¸¦ À§´ëÇÑ ±×¸®½ºµµÀÎÀ¸·Î Á¸°æÇÑ´Ù°í ÇÒÁö¶óµµ ±×¸®½ºµµÀÇ ¿µ»ýÀº ³ªÅ¸³ªÁö ¾ÊÀ» °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.


47. But here is the real bottom line, ¡°That ye may prove (demonstrate) what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.¡± –The end of ninth paragraph-

±×·¯³ª °¡Àå Áß¿äÇÑ ÇÙ½ÉÀÌ ¿©±â ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. ¡°³ÊÈñ´Â ¡¦ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¼±ÇÏ½Ã°í ±â»µÇÏ½Ã°í ¿ÂÀüÇϽŠ¶æÀÌ ¹«¾ùÀÎÁö ºÐº°Çϵµ·Ï Ç϶ó (º¸À̶ó)¡± –¾ÆÈ© ¹ø° ´Ü¶ô ³¡-


48. We are the body of Christ.

¿ì¸®´Â ±×¸®½ºµµÀÇ ¸öÀÔ´Ï´Ù.


49. We are to walk even as he walked (1 John 2:6).

¿ì¸®´Â ±×°¡ ÇàÇϽô ´ë·Î ÇàÇØ¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. (¿äÀÏ 2:6)


50. ¡°Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world¡± (1John 4:17).
