안녕하세요? 이번에 10월 3일에 저희 교회를 방문해 주셔서 너무 반가웠습니다.
질의응답시간에 청년들이 궁금해한다던 거듭난 그리스도인들이 영화를 보는 것이나 tv프로그램을 보는 것들에 대해 어떻게 생각하시느냐는 질문을 제가 했는데요^^ 너무나 명쾌한 답변을 해주셔서 감사했습니다. 제 자신이 부끄럽기도 했구요.
그리고 제가 한가지 궁금한 것은 저는 구원받은 지 15년 정도가 되었는데요 구원은 주님의 은혜로만 받았는데 신앙생활은 자꾸만 저의 힘으로, 저의 의지로 하는 것 같아서 고민입니다. 어떻게 해야 주님의 공급하시는 힘으로 살수가 있는 걸까요? 왜 구원은 은혜로 받았는데 삶은 제 생각과 제 의지가 더 많이 사용되는 것인지.. 저만 이런 고민을 하는 건지 잘 모르겠지만 형제님의 성실한 답변을 기대합니다^^

You are definitely not the only one: in fact your problem is almost universal among modern Christians. However, how big the problem is depends on how the individual relates to the word of God. The apostle Paul wrote, “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” (Galatians 5: 16, 17). Obviously the conflict you are feeling is one that Paul was aware of and wrote about. Did he experience the same conflict? Yes he did. To the Romans he wrote, “For in me (that is in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.” (Romans 7: 18).
형제님만이 이런 문제를 겪는 것은 분명히 아닙니다.
사실, 형제님께서 겪고 계신 문제는 현대 그리스도인들에게는 거의 공통된 사안입니다.
그러나 문제가 얼마나 중대한가 하는 것은 개인이 하나님의 말씀과 얼마나 결부되어 있느냐에 달려있습니다.
사도 바울은 이렇게 적었습니다.
“그런즉 내가 이것을 말하노니 곧 성령 안에서 걸으라. 그리하면 너희가 육신의 욕심을 이루지 아니하리라. 육신은 성령을 대적하여 욕심을 부리고 성령은 육신을 대적하나니 이 둘이 서로 반대가 되므로 너희가 원하는 것을 능히 하지 못하느니라.“ (갈라디아서 5:16, 17)
형제님께서 느끼고 있는 갈등이 바로 여기서 바울이 인지하고 있었고, 또한 다루고 있는 문제입니다. 바울도 동일한 갈등을 겪었을까요? 네, 그도 겪었습니다.
로마 사람들에게는 이렇게 적고 있습니다.
“내 안에 (곧 내 육신 안에) 선한 것이 거하지 아니하는 줄을 내가 아노니 원함은 내게 있으나 선한 그것을 어떻게 행할는지는 내가 찾지 못하노라.” (로마서 7:18)
But Paul had the solution, “Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” Now that we are born-again, we are spiritual beings, sons of God. Living in us is the Holy Spirit of God, which cannot sin (1 John 3: 9). We have actually become a new creation (2 Corinthians 5: 17). But, like Paul, we still exist in our fleshly body, which is not converted; it opposes our Spirit. So it is impossible by any effort of our flesh to be holy or righteous. Therefore we cannot succeed in our Christian life by simply trying harder to make our flesh behave spiritually. We must be led by the Spirit (Romans 8: 14).

To do that we need a whole new mind-set. We will feed our mind on the word of God (1 Peter 2: 2, 3). Job said, “Neither have I gone back from the com-mandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food” (Job 23:12). We need to devour the word of God until it begins to transform the way we think (Romans 12: 2). We need to set our affections on things above, not on things on the earth (Colossians 3: 1-3).
그렇게 하기 위해서 우리는 완전히 새로운 마음가짐이 필요합니다. 우리는 우리의 마음을 하나님의 말씀으로 먹여야 합니다. (베드로전서 2:2, 3)

Read Psalm 1, and begin to apply it, and the result will be exactly what is stated there. We do not benefit from the truth until we believe it and apply it. The Holy Spirit is given to them that obey him (Acts 5: 32). Many Christians think of themselves as sons of Adam, trying to behave like sons of God. If we are born again, we are no longer sons of Adam; through our new birth we have been born as sons of God (1 John 3: 1-3). We must acknowledge that and recognize that God has already done that work in those who are his: then we will see that our new life is not a struggle to achieve something, but rather the applying of something that God has already achieved. The best place to start is in a consistent pursuit of the word of God. That doesn’t come from preachers or pastors or church: that comes from getting alone with God and reading the word (Bible) with a view of knowing him better. Read it, trust it and obey it. If you will listen to God, he will guide you into all truth (John 16: 13, 14).

우리는 반드시 이 사실을 인정해야 하며, 하나님께서 자신의 사람들에게 이런 일을 이미 이루어 놓으셨다는 것을 인식해야 합니다.
그런 후에야 우리는 우리의 삶이 어떤 것을 성취하기 위한 몸부림이 아니라, 오히려 하나님께서 이미 성취하신 일을 적용하는 것임을 볼 수 있게 됩니다.
이를 시작할 가장 좋은 시작점은 바로 하나님의 말씀을 한결같이 추구하는 것입니다.
이는 설교자나 목사님, 혹은 교회로부터 오지 않습니다. 바로 하나님을 더 많이 알기 원하는 마음으로 하나님과 홀로 시간을 보내며 말씀(성경)을 읽는 데서 옵니다.
성경을 읽으십시오. 성경을 믿으십시오. 그리고 성경에 순종하십시오.
형제님이 하나님의 음성을 듣게 된다면, 하나님께서 형제님은 모든 진리 가운데로 인도하실 것입니다. (요한복음 16:13, 14)
Although we do need to be in fellowship with the church, and we do need to hear preaching, that is not the source of spiritual life. It is only in Christ himself; all the other things are only supplemental.
우리가 교회에서 교제 가운데 있어야 하며 설교를 들어야 할 필요가 분명히 있습니다만, 그것들이 영적 생명의 원천은 아닙니다.
그 원천은 오직 예수님 바로 그분에게만 있습니다. 다른 모든 것들은 오직 보충적인 역할을 할 뿐입니다.
