안녕하세요? 저는 하나님과 함께 사랑함으로 동행하는 박재율형제입니다. 딕 형제님께서도 안녕하신지요? 이렇게 서신을 띄우게 되어 주님께 너무나 감사 드립니다. 제가 명확하게 알고 싶은 것이 있어서 이렇게 글을 남기게 되었습니다. 계시록에 보면 이마에 인 맞은 자 십사만 사천 명이 있는데 7장에 나오는 십사만 사천과 14장에 나오는 십사만 사천에 대한 부분입니다. 이 부분을 가지고 달리 해석하는 분들이 있는 것 같아 명확하게 알고 싶어서 입니다. 수고스럽게 해서 죄송합니다. 주님 안에서 평하길 기도합니다.

As you have said, there are many interpretations of these scriptures. Some of those interpretations do not fit the revealed facts, therefore they cannot be considered (such as the Jehovah’s witness doctrine that these are the heavenly class who are the only ones who have a heavenly hope.). Of the 144,000 mentioned in chapter 7; they are Israelites of the twelve tribes of Israel, omitting the tribe of Dan, and including two tribes of Joseph (Joseph and Mannaseh). They are definitely on the earth, as is mentioned five times in the first 3 verses, and they are servants of God, sealed and protected against the scorpions in 9:4. If they are the same 144,000 referred to in chapter 14, they have followed the lamb wherever he went, (which I presume means they faithfully followed Jesus in utter obedience;) They were virgins undefiled by women (which I presume to be literal; but it may also have reference to idolatry: meaning that they were never distracted by that which would deter their worship of the Lord Jesus.) And they were (apparently when their service was complete) redeemed from the earth.

Now I will confess to you that I have read several interpretations that do not agree with each other (some do not agree that these two groups are the same). I am comfortable to wait upon the Lord until he confirms his interpretation to me. Remember that it is OK to say “I don’t know.” Do not embrace a doctrinal position until the Lord by his Spirit confirms it to you. Wait on the Lord and he will, as he promised, guide you into all truth.

One of the problems, which contribute to the divisions in the church today, is the propensity of the saints to learn their doctrines from men instead of hearing from the Lord. Of course we must listen to human teachers and preachers because God has placed those gifts and ministries in the body; but all that we hear must be confirmed in our hearts by the witness of the Holy Spirit. When that is not the case, then wait on the Lord for confirmation. (read 1 John 2: 20,27)
오늘날 교회의 분열을 낳는데 기여한 여러 문제들 중 하나는 자신들의 교리를 주님으로부터 듣는 대신 사람으로부터 배우려고 하는 성도들의 경향입니다.
물론 하나님께서 그런 은사와 사역들을 한 몸 안에 허락하셨기 때문에 우리는 인간인 교사들과 설교자들에게서 들어야만 합니다.
그러나 우리가 듣는 모든 것은 우리의 마음 안에서 성령의 증언 통해 확인을 받아야 합니다. 만약(역: 형제님께서 가지신 교리적 판단이) 그렇지 않을 경우, 주님께서 주시는 확인을 기다리시기 바랍니다. (요한일서 2:20, 27을 읽어보시기 바랍니다.)
