ANSWER

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor? Romans 11:33, 34.

Even the apostle Paul, with all of his revelation of God declared that the ways of God are past finding out. Therefore I am sure that we understand only a fraction of God¡¯s mind and of his ways. Some things seem evident, but there is so much that we will only understand when we see him face to face.

One of the things that seems evident is the fact that man was to be the visible image of the invisible God. That is seen perfectly in the man Christ Jesus. When all is said and done, the redeemed saints will be conformed to the image of Jesus. When he shall appear we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is (1 John 3:2). God¡¯s plan in creating man was to bring many sons into glory. To have fellowship with God there are two requirements. 1. To love him (because he first loved us) and 2. to obey him (which is the evidence of our love). Neither of these things would have been possible without a free will. It seems necessary that man would be able to choose to love and obey God, because love and obedience are choices. Man chose to disobey (sin), and as a result he fell and was not in fellowship with god (spiritually dead) (Ephesians 2:1)

Through the fall of man, God had the opportunity to reveal all of his attributes: love, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, anger, judgment, power, and every aspect of his character. Then, in his redeeming act of identifying with his condemned creation in the person of Jesus Christ, he paid the penalty that his righteousness demanded. In the whole marvelous process, God was and is able to reveal himself to man, the object of his love. As history unfolds from the creation to the conclusion, God is fully revealing every aspect of his character. There apparently was no better plan than the one he set in motion.
