Why Can We Believe the Bible?

¿Ö ¿ì¸®°¡ ¼º°æÀ» ¹ÏÀ» ¼ö ÀÖÀ»±î¿ä?

The Bible is not a book about science; and yet the Bible is scientifically accurate.

The Bible is not a book about history; and yet it is historically accurate.

The Bible is not a book about archaeology; and yet it is archaeologically accurate.

The Bible is not a book about anthropology; and yet it is anthropologically accurate.

The Bible is the word of God, and is therefore reliable in all that it states.

Scientific methodology is to formulate a hypothesis, and then set out to prove or disprove its veracity. There are many unproven theories floating around out there. Until they are proven they are not scientific fact; they remain theories. No proven science contradicts the Bible. Many theories have been postulated that contradict the scriptures, but none of them have passed the test. They remain theories. The fact is that all that the Bible teaches has withstood the challenges of all of its critics for thousands of years and has proven true.

The Bible itself explains that God spoke the things that came to pass before they happened. When they happened, therefore, it was evident that God did them. History that we are watching unfold today was written many generations ago. The real question is, ¡°How could we not believe the Bible?¡±

The historical focus of scripture is on the nation of Israel, which has descended from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It was that nation that was to bring forth the Savior. Every detail of his birth, life, death and resurrection was recorded in advance in the scriptures. It was that nation that was to provide us with the written word. The forty writers of the scriptures, whom the Bible calls ¡°Holy men of God who spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit¡±, were Israelites. The prophets also wrote the history of that nation until the end of time, and it has unfolded exactly as they said it would, giving us tremendous hope, and letting us know where we are in history. All of that was done, and the scriptures completed nearly two thousand years ago. Nothing has been added or taken away, and yet we are still seeing it accurately unfolding. Again, how could we not believe the Bible?
